Ex-gear

Gear I got rid of because of various reasons.

Waldorf microwave xt

A very cool synthesizer, especially because of the wavetable synthesis and the hands-on control. Onfortunately, I found it too thin sounding so it wouldn't stay up in the mix. I'll probably buy one back in the future, even if it's only too freak with in the late evening hours.

Yamaha DX7 MKII

This one's great for basslines and bellish sounds but I found it too difficult to use for my productions because I'm more a substractive synthesis user and because editing is a bit of a pain in the ass. I traded it for a Roland SH-09 with which I am very happy.

Roland MC-09 PhraseLab

My first synthesizer! I bought it after hearing it in the local music shop and was blown away by its preset patterns (good marketing job, Roland!). The more I got to know this machine, the less I began liking it. The sound engine isn't very powerful and only 25% of the control settings has an influence on the sound. Furthermore, the audiolooper isn't tight, so sampled loops (even from the internal sound engine) sound no good.

Novation K Station

My first polyphonic synthesizer on which I learned the ins and outs of substractive synthesis. :-) After a while I didn't like the sound anymore. The synth is a bit thin-sounding and I found the filter to be very trancy (I'm not a trancelover).

Access virus b

I didn't like the sound, which I think has no real character of it's own. Furthermore, there is still much menu-diving (I prefer as many hands-on control as possible). For instance, take the parameters for the third oscillator and lfo's. The free SoundDiver editor gives the Virus B a better way of editing, but disturbs the MIDI sync signal.

Korg Kaoss Pad

The first dedicated effectsunit me and my musical partner bought. We sold it because the effects aren't very editable and commanding or syncing of the effect via MIDI is nog possible.
