parallel27 studio
My DAW system consists of a Asus A7N8X rev 2.00 motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 512mb Corsair low latency RAM, 2 x 160gb Maxtor Diamond Plus9 LBR.
I'm actually still surprised that with all the software going on, and the FireWire en USB buses working overtime, this system is still managing to perform quite nicely. I never reach a CPU use of 80%, even when doing bigger projects and using powerful plugins.
I'm also contemplating in purchasing a Mac G5, because I miss Logic a LOT. Even though Yamaha bought Steinberg, the remote control implementation of Logic Control works soooo much better. Also, the off-the-shelf plugins and instruments which come with Logic are more closely knit to my creative process. And I sure miss the sidechaning capabilities.
Latest addition: Alesis AI3 and Nord Rack 3.
Updated: August 2006.

parallel27 studio Studio Gear:
Access Virus rack XL
My first Virus ever. Took the rack version because of lack of space. Used SoundDiver a LOT.
Access Virus TI Desktop
Love the raw power of this monster. Love the new sequencer mode.

Roland XV-5050
My studio rompler. Use it only for a few sounds. I don't design sounds on this.
Elektron Machinedrum
Excellent for alternative percussion. But can also work beautifully in contemporary dance/electronic music aswell.
Korg X3
My main keyboard and my-first-synth. I actually have the X2 which has 2 additional outputs.
Clavia Nord rack3
The ultimate pad dream machine is finally in my studio ;-)
KRK v8
I actually have the RP8 which is not in the same league as the v8. Smashing sounds though. Nice sweetspot.
Lexicon mpx500
I've got the updated 550. It's my rigs main outboard digital fx unit.
Behringer PX3000
I'm thinking of exchanging this with a Neutrik. But for the time being it does an excellent job connecting everything.
OhmForce Predathom Distortion
Utterly twisted distortion fx. Sometime this plug makes me feel like a mad professor or Aphex Twin. Don't know why really.

IK Multimedia AmpliTube
Another disappointment. Amplitube is a bit unstable. I always _save_ my work before opening this plugin.

Emagic SoundDiver
I use this to manage my Virus Rack XL, Korg X2 and XV-5050. It does the job well.
Waves Masters Bundle
Bought it for just 1 thing only: the L2.
reFX Vanguard
Some say this is a software equivalent of a Virus. I tend do differ. Use it a lot as for filling a track up with additional sounds, and only if my other Synths are already in use.
Waves Native Power Pack
Some excellent plugins I use regularly.

Native Instruments NI Komplete 2
All the Native Instruments stuff I'm ever gonna need. I don't need the latest-and-greatest. The versions delivered in Komplete 2 can do anyhing I want.

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
Although I miss Logic and some of its fx/softsynths, Cubase SX's VST Connections and Studio Connections make good for a LOT.
PSP audioware VintageWarmer
My main finalizer, used in Mastering or Postproduction of tracks. Love the warmness of it.

Sony Sound Forge 8
I actually own SF7, which does exactly what I expect a normal soundwave editor to do. Before this I used SF5. The only reason I bought SF7 is because my old SF5 cd got lost ...
Spectrasonics Stylus
Wonderful plugin to fill up that empty sound with nice percussion. I also use Groove Control a lot to create new beats.
Steinberg Virtual Guitarist
Sounds nice and clean, but it can't beat the flexibility and creativity that a real guitarist can bring to the studio.

Novation V-Station
This softsynth was a bit of a disappointment really. The sound doesn't grab me by the balls.
FabFilter One
Nice little plugin. Creates nice warm analog sounding vintage leads and can also do pretty sci-fi fx.
Steinberg midex 8
Because you simply can't go on daisy chaining. This machine has made all the difference in getting all the gear to time-align propperly during playback. Worth every penny this thing.
Yamaha O1x
My first and only digital desk uptil now. Before this I had a Behringer Eurodesk. Had some setup woes in getting it to run smoothly. But now it has been operating almost 2 years without hassle. My setup runs with 32 ins and 32 outs all over 1 cable. Sweeet.
TC Electronic PowerCore PCI mkII
Synths, Reverbs, Compressors, EQ's and Finalizers. Heaven!

Yamaha i88X
The i/o expander for my Yamaha 01x desk. Features ADAT, so if I need more outputs, I think I'm gonna attach a cheap Behringer ADA8000 for 8 more additional inputs.
